Orthodox Metropolitanate 

of Hong Kong and South East Asia

The Orthodox Metropolitanate of Hong Kong was founded with the decision of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1996 after being detached from the Orthodox Metropolitanate of New Zealand. In the same year it was recognized by the Government of Hong Kong.

According to the amended Cap. 599G, starting from May 19, 2022, the restriction of the number of persons allowed in premises such as cinemas, performance venues, museums, event premises and religious premises etc. will be relaxed to 85 per cent of their capacity. 

We ask for your cooperation to keep everyone safe:

  1.  If you are ill or have a fever, do NOT attend service.
  2. The laity must wear a facemask or similar covering of the mouth and nose at all times.
  3. Once the Liturgy is concluded, the faithful should leave the church compound and avoid socialising. 
  4. Before entering the church compound, the faithful are required to scan the “LeaveHomeSafe” venue QR code. The information collected will be kept for 31 days and will solely be used by the Government for contact tracing purposes in preventing further spread of the virus.

The Divine Liturgy will be streamed live online via Saint Luke Orthodox Cathedral Hong Kong Facebook page on Sunday at 10.00 am.
